The donation, made in celebration of RM’s birthday on September 12, continues his tradition of annual philanthropy. Over the years, the artist has consistently directed his contributions to charitable and socially impactful causes. In 2024, he donated 100 million won to a veterans’ fund, while in 2023, he supported the Korean Society of Forensic Sciences. In 2021 and 2022, RM contributed to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation, aiding efforts to preserve cultural heritage.

RM’s global fanbase, known as ARMY, has also embraced his example, organizing charitable initiatives worldwide that extend his impact.
In a statement, RM expressed his motivation for the donation: “I hope this small gesture can bring warmth and hope to patients. It’s deeply meaningful to contribute to advancements in medicine and to supporting the value of life.”
The funds are expected to enhance clinical facilities and broaden access to critical healthcare services, reinforcing Korea University Medical Center’s mission to deliver high-quality care.
