The initiative seeks to establish a self-reliant medical equipment management framework at Tan Chau General Hospital, enabling it to provide superior healthcare services to residents of An Giang and surrounding areas. Funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) from the Export-Import Bank of Korea, the project emphasizes the sustainable maintenance and management of Korean-manufactured medical equipment.

KonKuk University Hospital will lend its advanced expertise in biomedical engineering, focusing on key consulting tasks such as creating a structured preventive maintenance system, developing guidelines for equipment upkeep and disposal, providing advisory support for the hospital’s biomedical engineering team, and implementing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). The effort also includes training programs for both local and Korean professionals to ensure enduring operational success.
This appointment highlights KonKuk University Hospital’s internationally recognized proficiency in medical equipment management. Moving beyond simple technology transfer, the hospital aims to craft customized solutions tailored to Vietnam’s healthcare landscape, promoting a sustainable management system.
Through this endeavor, KonKuk University Hospital aims to elevate its international reputation and expand its role in Official Development Assistance (ODA) consulting and global training programs, contributing to healthcare progress in developing countries.
