[Hinews] SEOUL, South Korea — On June 28, Dr. Je-young Park, Director of Apkoo-Jung Oracle Dermatology Clinic, delivered a keynote address at the Ultherapy Prime Grand Launch Symposium, hosted by Merz Aesthetics—a global leader in medical aesthetics. The event marked the official debut of Ultherapy Prime, a next-generation ultrasound-based skin-lifting device, in the South Korean market.

Held under the theme “WE LEAD, The Prime of ALL,” the symposium gathered over 500 dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and aesthetic medicine specialists to discuss the latest innovations in lifting technology and Merz’s global brand vision. The event reaffirmed South Korea’s position as a leader in shaping global trends in medical aesthetics.

Dr. Park’s 40-minute presentation, titled “Precision Reimagined: Advanced Tailoring Strategy for Lift & Renewal with Ultherapy Prime,” explored customized lifting protocols optimized for Korean skin characteristics. He shared clinical data and experience-driven insights on how to individualize treatment plans based on skin laxity, dermal and subcutaneous thickness, and desired procedural outcomes.

His presentation emphasized depth-specific targeting techniques honed over 15 years of clinical experience. As an advisory consultant in developing Ultherapy Prime’s “Gold Standard” protocol, Dr. Park introduced gender-specific techniques that account for anatomical differences between male and female skin. He also unveiled a novel “Pore Ultherapy” method designed to improve pore size and skin texture.
“Compared to the original Ultherapy, which delivered ultrasound energy to a maximum depth of 4.5mm, Ultherapy Prime can reach up to 8mm,” Dr. Park explained. “This deeper penetration enables more effective treatment for patients with thicker dermal and subcutaneous tissues or advanced signs of aging, while also shortening procedure time and improving overall patient comfort and precision.”

He further stressed the role of clinician expertise, stating, “As devices allow for more refined procedures, precision in shot placement becomes crucial. Experienced practitioners are key to minimizing discomfort and preventing side effects such as midface volume loss.”

The panel session featured clinical case discussions and demonstrated the utility of Ultherapy Prime’s real-time imaging system, allowing precise visualization of treatment depth. Attendees shared insights on current clinical applications and anticipated developments in non-invasive lifting technology.

Dr. Park, the first physician to introduce Ultherapy Prime procedures in South Korea, will chair and present at the Asia-Pacific Launch Symposium on July 11. His ongoing research includes male-specific Ultherapy protocols and collaborative studies with Merz’s global team to clarify the regenerative mechanisms underlying ultrasound-based lifting. His findings, published in SCI-indexed journals, solidify his status as a thought leader in the field of medical aesthetics.
