[Hinews] BUCHEON, South Korea — Suncheonhyang University Bucheon Hospital has received a Grade 1 in South Korea's sixth pneumonia care quality assessment, conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA), its sixth consecutive top-tier designation.

The evaluation, conducted from October 2023 to March 2024, assessed 599 medical institutions nationwide, focusing on adult pneumonia inpatients aged 18 and older. Key performance indicators included oxygen saturation checks, use of pneumonia severity scoring tools, sputum and blood culture testing before initial antibiotic treatment, and timely antibiotic administration within eight hours of admission.

Bucheon Hospital earned perfect scores in all metrics and exceeded the tertiary hospital average in key outcomes, including readmission and mortality rates.
