The new facility, spanning 17,805 square meters, is designed to produce approximately 120 million cosmetic products annually. Together with its first U.S. plant, which specializes in color cosmetics, the new facility enables Korea Kolmar to produce a full spectrum of products, including color cosmetics, skincare, and suncare, through an Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) model. This expansion establishes a robust production system capable of delivering up to 300 million units annually in the U.S.
The second factory is poised to address the surging demand for K-beauty products, particularly in basic skincare and sunscreens, which have seen rapid growth in the U.S. market. Notably, the facility has obtained Over-the-Counter (OTC) certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sunscreen manufacturing, positioning Korea Kolmar to capitalize on the expanding U.S. suncare market.
A Korea Kolmar spokesperson highlighted the strategic importance of the new plant, stating, “With the completion of our second U.S. factory, we have secured an annual production capacity of 300 million units locally. This enables both K-beauty brands and global cosmetics companies to reduce the impact of recent U.S. export tariffs by leveraging local production.”
