[Hinews] SEOUL, South Korea — Kim Nam-joon, better known as RM, the leader of global K-pop sensation BTS, has donated 100 million won (approximately $75,000) to Korea University Medical Center to support improvements in patient care environments and the expansion of medical services, the institution announced.

The donation, made in celebration of RM’s birthday on September 12, continues his tradition of annual philanthropy. Over the years, the artist has consistently directed his contributions to meaningful causes. In 2024, he donated 100 million won to a veterans’ fund, while in 2023, he supported the Korean Society of Forensic Sciences. In 2021 and 2022, RM contributed to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation, aiding efforts to preserve cultural heritage.

RM’s global fanbase, known as ARMY, has also embraced his ethos of giving, engaging in charitable initiatives worldwide that amplify his positive impact.

In a statement, RM expressed his motivation for the donation: “I hope this small gesture can bring warmth and hope to patients. It’s deeply meaningful to contribute to advancements in medicine and the respect for life.”
Eul-sik Yoon, vice president of medical affairs at Korea University, expressed gratitude for the contribution. “RM’s heartfelt donation will significantly support patients’ recovery and well-being,” Yoon said. “We are committed to honoring the value of giving and strive to become a trusted medical institution.”

The funds are expected to enhance clinical facilities and broaden access to critical healthcare services, reinforcing Korea University Medical Center’s mission to deliver high-quality care.
