The evaluation, carried out between October 2023 to March 2024, reviewed adult inpatients (aged 18 and older) diagnosed with pneumonia. It assessed five core clinical indicators—oxygen saturation measurement, use of severity scoring tools, sputum culture, timely antibiotic administration within eight hours, and blood culture testing—alongside six monitoring metrics.

Both institutions achieved near-perfect scores across most categories, significantly outperforming the national average of 82.9 points.
Dr. Chi-Heum Cho, president of Dongsan Medical Center, emphasized the importance of timely intervention. “Pneumonia requires prompt diagnosis and treatment,” he said. “We remain committed to patient-centered care and to upholding public trust as a leading healthcare institution.”
