[Hinews] All three hospitals under Eulji University Medical Center—Daejeon, Nowon, and Uijeongbu— received the highest Grade 1 rating in South Korea's 6th Pneumonia Appropriateness Assessment, conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA), the center announced on July 18.

The hospitals scored perfect or near-perfect results across five key indicators: oxygen saturation testing, use of pneumonia severity assessment tools, sputum culture testing, blood cultures before the first antibiotic dose, and timely antibiotic administration within eight hours of hospital admission. These results underscore the hospitals' excellence in pneumonia diagnosis and treatment.

Daejeon and Nowon Eulji Medical Centers have maintained Grade 1 ratings for six consecutive evaluations since the program began, while Uijeongbu Eulji Medical Center has also earned Grade 1 in both evaluations conducted since its opening.

The assessment, carried out between October 2023 and March 2024, reviewed adult inpatients—aged 18 and older—who were treated for pneumonia with antibiotics for a minimum of three days.
“This outcome reaffirms our commitment to continuous improvement in care quality," said Dr. Song Byeong-ju, president of Eulji University Medical Center. "We will continue to deliver patient-centered, high-quality services.”
