“나이 많다고 검진 제외됐는데…” 고령층도 저선량 흉부 CT 한 번으로 폐암을 조기 진단할 수 있다는 국내 연구 결과가 나왔다.장승훈 한림대성심병원 교수, 강혜린 동탄성심병원 교수, 이춘택 분당서울대병원 교수 연구팀은 70세 이상 남성 1409명을 대상으로 저선량 흉부 CT를 1회 시행한 뒤 약 3.6년간 추적 관찰 했다고 밝혔다.그 결과, 대상자의 56%에서 폐결절이 발견됐고, 2.2%(31명)는 폐암으로 진단됐다. 특히 진단된 폐암 환자 중 61%가 1~2기 조기 단계였으며, 90%는 병기에 맞는 적절한 치료를 받았다. 폐암 진단까지 평균 소요 기간은 약 9.3개월이었다.현재 흡연자의 폐암 진단율은 3.6%로, 과거 흡연자(1.5%)나 비흡연자(1.9%)보
